Week 14: Friends in Paris!

For the month of May I have made an executive decision- don’t worry, I reviewed it with my board of directors- to stay in Paris for the remaining weekends.  “But that is 4 solid weekends that you could be traveling,” you might be thinkin.  My reasoning for staying in Paris is rather simple:  Paris is far more fun in the sun and May usually means good weather (besides last week, we can let that one slide), I am tired of hostels for the time being, and I would be happy if I never saw my carry on duffel ever again.

With all that being said, I had a wonderful treat this weekend IN Paris because two friends came to visit.  Since I had guests, I did what every hostess should do and planned their visit around all the food that I wanted them to try.  (kidding.. but not really.) The first day they arrived we had somewhat of a hostel fiasco – I will leave it at that- but after that was resolved we walked around Il de la Cite and Notre Dame and the surrounding area.  For dinner we had Croque Madam at a Brasserie near my house called Bistro Au Coin.

The rest of the weekend we did a variety of sightseeing, which included: the Eiffel Tower, Musee D’Orsay (the new exhibit is amazing), the Memorial to the Departed, Trocadero, Garnier Opera and a few others.  We did a TON of walking and wandered the neighborhoods that we wanted to see. Lucky for them, I have been paying attention in my Paris history class so they basically had a free tour guide all weekend!!
