Eating DC: Le Diplomate

Le Diplomate is probably on my list of Top 5 favorite DC restaurants- why?  It is delicious, consistent, something special and still feels like a local neighborhood spot.  The food is classic French (and I can say that because I studied abroad in Paris) and the restaurant itself is very chic bistro- it’s amazing.  There is a great bar, tiled floor, patio and “sun room” seating and it legitimately feels like you have stepped off of DC’s 14th Street and right into a bistro du coin in Paris.

To be honest, there is nothing on the menu I don’t like.  They do brunch and dinner, and while I prefer dinner there, the brunch is still amazing.

Some of my favorites include: Onion Soup Gratinee, Escargots, Pate de Campagne, Warm Shrimp Salad, Steak Frites and the Half Roast Chicken.  AND if you are there on a Thursday, the Dover Sole Meuniere.  Like I said, you really can’t go wrong with anything you order.

On the dessert side- oh my got the profiteroles.  They are soooo delicious.  So is the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee and the Pot du Creme.

On top of all of my recommendations, they have an amazing raw bar and drink menu.

If you are in DC- Le Dip is definitely a go to!!
