Blondies

Ingredients:

1 cup flour

1 cup packed brown sugar

1 egg

8 tbsp butter; melted

1 tsp almond extract

1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup chocolate chips

1/3 cup chopped walnuts

1/3 cup chopped pecans

1/2 tsp kosher salt

Optional:  You can add anything to blondies!  White chocolate chips, shredded coconut, almonds, butterscotch chips, dried fruit, etc.

Batter:

In either a stand mixer (with the whisk attachment) or with a wooden spoon, mix together the brown sugar, egg, vanilla and almond extracts and the melted butter.  Fold in the flour, chocolate chips and nuts.  (Your dough will be super thick and dense, but that is how its supposed to be!)

Bake:

Preheat the oven to 350F.  Line a metal or glass baking dish with parchment paper and pour in the batter, smoothing it down over the top.  Bake for about 30 minutes or until the batter no longer comes out when you poke it.  Let cool slightly before slicing.  Enjoy!
